My Routine on Summer Holiday: Sun, Fun, and a Lot of Ice Cream

Ah, summer holidays — the time of year when the sun is blazing, the days are long, and the only thing that matters is finding the perfect spot to nap while pretending to be productive. You know, summer vacation is the golden period when you get to toss your schedule out the window, and your biggest decision is whether to have a popsicle or an ice cream cone for breakfast. Yes, my friends, welcome to my Summer Holiday Routine — where structure is a distant memory, and spontaneity reigns supreme!

1. Wake Up? More Like “Wake Up…Eventually.”

My summer routine starts, well, whenever I feel like it. Forget alarms, forget “early riser” goals. During the summer, my body’s internal clock is in full vacation mode, which translates to me waking up between 10 AM and noon, depending on how late I stayed up binge-watching shows I promised myself I wouldn’t watch. (Spoiler alert: I totally watched them.)

When I finally open my eyes and roll out of bed like a sleepy burrito, my first thought is always, “How much can I still sleep today?” The second thought is: “Wait, breakfast… or is it lunch?” So, I hit the kitchen, but I’m not making eggs and toast like a responsible adult. Oh no, I’m grabbing the nearest chocolate bar and calling it “brunch.” Because it’s summer, and calories don’t count in the summer, right? 😎

2. The Great Outdoor Escape (Or the 5-Minute Outdoor Stroll)

Now that I’m somewhat awake, it’s time to be outdoorsy. The weather is gorgeous, and I should probably enjoy it, right? I mean, nature and all that! So, I throw on my most “effortless” outfit (read: sweatpants and flip-flops) and head outside.

At this point, I’m planning on doing something active, like going for a walk, a jog, or even just walking to the mailbox. But here’s the thing: the moment the sun hits me, I remember something crucial — shade is life. Suddenly, my five-minute stroll turns into a solid 30 minutes of me searching for the nearest shaded area to plop down with a book. A walk? Nah. I’ll just read about someone walking on the beach while I sit in the shade and sip iced coffee.

3. The Midday Ice Cream Decision

By noon, it’s officially time to consider ice cream. Let me clarify — this is not just a treat. This is a ritual. Summer means my freezer is stocked with at least three different types of ice cream at all times. The choices are overwhelming, but my taste buds demand variety. Will I go for vanilla, chocolate, or mint chip? Should I top it off with sprinkles, fudge, or cookies?

In the end, my daily ice cream decision feels like choosing a life partner. There’s a lot of deliberation, but I always pick the one that’s cold, creamy, and makes me feel like I’m winning at life.

4. The “Socializing” Part (aka The “Group Chat” Hangout)

Next on the agenda is hanging out with friends. But instead of actually meeting up and doing something active (because, again, it’s 100°F out), I spend hours on my phone scrolling through group chats. We don’t even plan anything. We just send memes, argue about which pizza topping is best, and share random TikTok videos that no one asked for.

At some point, someone suggests we should go to the beach, but the beach is far. So, we brainstorm more ideas and somehow end up watching YouTube videos about how to make the perfect TikTok video. This, of course, takes up the next few hours of my day. Procrastination at its finest, people!

5. Evening Snack Attack

As the sun sets and the temperature drops to a more comfortable level, it’s time for the next important part of my summer routine: dinner — or should I say, snack time. Who needs a full meal when you can graze on chips, popcorn, and cookies all evening? Honestly, eating a “real” meal feels like a lot of effort, and I’m living my best life nibbling on whatever random snacks I can find.

If I happen to cook, it’s probably just pasta with a sauce that’s mostly just cheese. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it doesn’t require me to leave the couch for more than a few minutes.

6. The Nighttime Vibe (Netflix and Chill… Literally)

After all the snacking and minimal movement, it’s time to end the day. How, you ask? Simple: Netflix. I finally get comfy with a blanket, settle into my couch fortress, and start my nightly ritual of watching a series that definitely doesn’t require any brainpower. It’s just light, fluffy TV — the kind of show you can watch while scrolling through your phone or half-sleeping.

Somewhere around 11 PM, I fall asleep on the couch, only to wake up around 2 AM with a crick in my neck. I briefly contemplate going to bed… but nah, I’ll just fall asleep on the couch again. Tomorrow’s another day to do absolutely nothing!

Conclusion: Summer = The Best Routine Ever

And there you have it: my perfectly unproductive summer holiday routine. There’s no strict schedule, no early mornings, and absolutely no real responsibility. It’s just a glorious mix of naps, snacks, sun, and a lot of ice cream. Honestly, if this is the definition of “routine,” I’m here for it. 😎

So, what’s your summer routine? Are you the super-organized type who gets things done, or are you living for spontaneous naps and snack breaks like me? Either way, enjoy it while it lasts — because, let’s be real, we all know summer flies by way too fast!

Stay cool, stay chill, and never forget to eat ice cream for breakfast. 🍦
