First, I went looking for a costume. I had a few ideas: maybe a vampire, a witch, or something that screamed “spooky” and “cool.” But when I got to the costume section, I was greeted by a zombie clown wearing a tutu, a glittery skeleton, and a dancing hotdog. Wait, what? A dancing hotdog?! 😂 Seriously, who thought that would be a spooky choice?
After much deliberation, I went with something a bit more classic… a ghost. Yes, you heard that right, a ghost. But not just any ghost — a glow-in-the-dark ghost with a hat that kept falling off. It was perfect for my surprise party… but more on that later.
2. Spooky Decorations: The Haunted Aisle
Then came the decorations. I made my way down the aisles, picking out eerie spider webs, glowing skeletons, and fake blood. But wait! What’s this? A giant inflatable pumpkin that looked like it was going to eat me? I had to buy it. The store clerk gave me a strange look, but hey, it was Halloween!
The fun didn’t stop there. I even grabbed a few screaming pumpkins, and I kid you not, one of them let out a scream so loud that I almost dropped everything in fear. (Note: Always test out your pumpkins before buying them — you never know when they’ll scream back at you.) 😱🎃

Okay, now the surprise party. I had no idea this was coming. I walked into the house, all excited about my spooky costume and new decorations… when BOOM, the lights went off, and the house filled with the sound of eerie music. Suddenly, everyone shouted, “Surprise!”
I was so shocked I almost tripped over the inflatable pumpkin. 😂 But then, I looked around, and the real fun began.

Everyone came in ridiculous costumes! We had a witch on a hoverboard, a dancing taco (seriously), and a vampire who looked like he’d never heard of a dentist. Now, let’s talk about the treats. Someone made “witch’s brew punch” that was surprisingly delicious — but also turned everyone’s mouths bright green. Then there were bloody cupcakes (don’t worry, it was just red velvet), and my personal favorite, the mummy hotdogs. Yes, they wrapped hotdogs in crescent dough and turned them into little mummy shapes. Creepy? Yes. Delicious? Absolutely.
3. The Haunted House
The best part? The haunted house that almost scared me half to death. My friends set up a DIY haunted maze in the basement, and I might have screamed so loud that the neighbors came over to check if I was okay. I’ll never look at a fake spider the same way again.
