πŸ“š Meet Ms. Wordina – The English Teacher!

She wears rainbow-colored glasses, loves grammar games, and carries a dictionary in her bag at all times!

Today, Ms. Wordina is teaching us about something we use every day – NOUNS!


πŸ“ What is a Noun?

Ms. Wordina says:

β€œA noun is a word that names a person, place, animal, thing, or idea!”

So simple, right? Let’s look at some examples:

  • Person – Pari, teacher, doctor
  • Place – school, park, India
  • Animal – cat, elephant, dog
  • Thing – book, pen, bicycle
  • Idea – love, happiness, honesty

🌟 Types of Nouns

Ms. Wordina shows us her Magic Noun Tree with 5 branches. Each branch is a different type of noun!

1. Common Noun

These are general names for people, places, or things.

2. Proper Noun

These are special names for people, places, or things. They always start with a capital letter.

3. Collective Noun

These refer to a group of people, animals, or things.

4. Abstract Noun

These are names of feelings, qualities, or ideas. You can’t touch them, but you can feel them.

5. Material Noun

These are names of materials or substances.
