π Meet Ms. Wordina β The English Teacher!
She wears rainbow-colored glasses, loves grammar games, and carries a dictionary in her bag at all times!
Today, Ms. Wordina is teaching us about something we use every day β NOUNS!
π What is a Noun?
Ms. Wordina says:
βA noun is a word that names a person, place, animal, thing, or idea!β
So simple, right? Letβs look at some examples:
- Person β Pari, teacher, doctor
- Place β school, park, India
- Animal β cat, elephant, dog
- Thing β book, pen, bicycle
- Idea β love, happiness, honesty
π Types of Nouns
Ms. Wordina shows us her Magic Noun Tree with 5 branches. Each branch is a different type of noun!
1. Common Noun
These are general names for people, places, or things.

2. Proper Noun
These are special names for people, places, or things. They always start with a capital letter.

3. Collective Noun
These refer to a group of people, animals, or things.

4. Abstract Noun
These are names of feelings, qualities, or ideas. You canβt touch them, but you can feel them.

5. Material Noun
These are names of materials or substances.
